Causes of infertility

Male factors:
• Hypogonadism.
• Poor sperm quality/low volume of sperm.
• Blocked sperm tube.
• Varicocele.
• Genetic Diseases.
• Underlying disease.

Female Factors:
• Hypogonadism.
• Anovulation.
• Blocked Fallopian tube or a fascia membrane in the pelvic region.

The Fertility Center is fully equipped and ready to provide treatment with different fertility technologies, including
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
The simplest, least invasive and least expensive form of treatment, IUI involves placing the father’s sperm into the mother’s uterus during her ovulation. A semen sample is processed in the lab to separate good quality sperm from the seminal fluid, maximizing the number of sperm cells that are placed in the uterus and therefore the chances of conception.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
With IVF, fertilization of the female egg by the male sperm occurs outside the woman’s body. IVF is a breakthrough treatment in cases where other methods have failed to result in a pregnancy. The technique involves hormonally controlling the process of ovulation, removing eggs from the woman’s ovaries and letting sperm fertilize them in a fluid medium. The fertilized egg is then transferred to the woman’s uterus to establish a successful pregnancy.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
ICSI is an in vitro fertilization procedure in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg using micromanipulation, and is generally indicated where there is an extremely low sperm count or poor sperm movement.

Testicular Epididymal Sperm Extraction : (TESE)
Testicular biopsy is surgery to separate sperm in the testicle and then proceed to ICSI. This treatment is use in the case of the man with the blocked sperm tube, born without sperm tube or problem of ejaculation.

Our specialists provide treatment and services:
• Consultation
• Physical Check-up
• Blood hormone test
• Ultrasound, Hysterosalpingogram

Lasik and SuperSight Surgery Center

Lasik

LASIK

FemtoLASIK, a new technology is making LASIK safer and better.

LASIK is the nation’s most popular vision correction procedure. The surgery has always been a two-step process. In the first step, the surgeon makes a thin flap with femtosecond laser and folds it back for the second step, during which a device called an excimer laser is used to ablate corneal tissue for vision correction.

For many people eligible for LASIK who have held off on having the procedure due to the fear of the blade and/or complications, here are some great reasons to consider having it now. You can ask your ophthalmologist to use Femto laser instead of a blade, the safest option now available for LASIK.

We found that in addition to fewer complications, more patients achieved vision better than 20/20.

SuperSight Surgery

What is a SuperSight Surgery?

SuperSight Surgery is a dysfunctional lens replacement for people who are over 50 and thinking of ending their dependence on glasses.

SuperSight surgery procedure, by which the failing natural lenses in the eyes, which now optically inefficient, were replaced by soft multifocal intra-ocular lenses that can be made to focus for reading as well as being able to see all distances.

Consequently, your vision after the procedure will be stable and unlikely to change over time; this can be an important turning back the clock visually. In addition, cataract surgery is unnecessary later in life.

Dr Somchai T.shoke-satian (multi-award winning ophthalmologist at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya) is one of the finest eye surgeons and the pioneers in the world of an advanced and painless surgery, which is based on tried and tested technology. He has carried out this surgery for nine years on almost 5,000 patients, with a success rate approaching 100 percent.

Laparoscopic Surgery:

laparoscopy surgery1

What is laparoscopic surgery

Laparoscopic surgery refers to a technique where the surgeon makes small incisions about 1 cm in size, instead of a single large incision. Small tubes, called “trocars,” are placed through these incisions and into the abdomen. Carbon dioxide gas is used to inflate the abdomen in order to give the surgeon room to work. This allows the surgeon to use a camera attached to a thin video camera (called a laparoscope) to watch a magnified view of the inside the abdomen on operating room monitors. Special instruments have been developed for the surgeon to pass through the trocars to take the place of the surgeon’s hands and traditional surgical instruments. Surgical stapling devices to divide and reconnect intestine as well as energy devices to cut and cauterize tissues and blood vessels have also been adapted for laparoscopic use.

What are the benefits of laparoscopic surgery?

Because the incisions are much smaller than those used in traditional surgery, there is usually less discomfort following laparoscopic surgery. This has been shown to result in a shorter hospital stay, fewer wound infections, less need for prescription pain medications, an earlier return to normal activities and less visible scarring. Reduced hemorrhages which reduces the chance of needing a blood transfusion. From a surgeon’s perspective, laparoscopic surgery may allow for easier dissection of abdominal scar tissue (adhesions), less surgical trauma, and improved outcomes in certain groups like the elderly and extremely overweight individuals.

Operations now often performed laparoscopically include the following:

• gallbladder : gall stones, cholecystitis
• appendix : appendicitis
• hernia : groin hernia, abdominal wall hernia, diaphragmatic hernia
• colon : cancer, diverticulitis, polyps
• stomach : cancer, perforation, gastro-esophageal reflux
• Weight-reduction procedures : gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy
• pancreas : tumor, cyst
• spleen : splenomegaly, splenic abscess
• small intestine : tumor, fibrous adhesion
• adrenal glands : tumor

Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery:

Why do some people eat so much, but don’t get fat, while many others just eat a little, but put on weight? They find it hard to lose the weight, and even when they do lose weight, the kilograms come straight back.

If you are thinking that this is normal, you should investigate Sleeve Gastrectomy!

Hearing Speech Balance Tinnitus Center

DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT & REHABILITATION CENTER FOR HEARING SPEECH BALANCE TINNITUS

Hearing, Speech and Balance are complex mechanism processes working between your ears and your nervous system. Hearing loss not only involves a reduction in hearing ability not able to hear faint sounds, but also affects understanding of speech. Hearing loss can range from mild to very severe and generally comes on slowly, but many occasions can happen suddenly.

Children with hearing loss are at higher risk for having learning, speech/language and social/emotional difficulties than their normal hearing peers. Hearing loss can be present at birth. Causes include prenatal infections, illnesses, toxins consumed by the mother during pregnancy or other conditions occurring at the time of birth or shortly after. If your child has hearing loss, it is important to consider the use of hearing devices and other communication options by age 6 months, because children start learning speech and language long before they talk. Hearing loss has many causes such as blockage or damage in the outer and/or middle ear, disease or infection of ears, hearing nerve problems, certain drugs, exposure to noise, tumors, trauma and the aging process. Noise in the ear, dizziness, spinning or vertigo and hearing loss may occur together or separately but can be preventable.

Hearing loss should never be ignored.

DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES AVAILABLE
  1. Audiometry – testing degree hearing ability. Results of audiometric tests called audiograms are used to diagnose hearing loss of and diseases of the ear.
  2. Speech Discrimination Score (SDS) – the percentage of words correctly identified. Pathology of the inner ear, auditory nerve, and/or central auditory pathways can affect this score.
  3. SI SI Score (Recruitment Test) – the SISI test relates to the prevalence rates of cochlear and retrocochlear disorders.
  4. Tone Decay Test – involves the presentation of a continuous tone to determine whether the threshold for the tone has changed (becomes poorer) over time. The test helps differentiate sensory from neural hearing loss, and is used in the diagnosis of cochlear versus retrocochlear lesions and eighth nerve tumors.
  5. Bekesy Audiometry – a tool for detecting hearing ability, type of hearing loss, degree of hearing loss and for detecting simulated hearing loss.
  6. Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) – a useful diagnostic tool for measuring hearing when more conventional hearing tests cannot be used as in newborn baby or Neurological patients.
  7. Posturography – a twenty minute computerized clinical test used to assess balance function from the eyes to the ear and to the brain.
  8. Caloric Test, Electronystagmography (ENG) / Video Nystagmography (VNG).
Caloric Test – monitoring the movements of your eyes using goggles to make sure that both of your ears can sense this stimulation. This test will confirm that your vestibular system for each ear is working and responding to stimulation.
Video Nystagmography (VNG) – technologies for testing inner ear balance organ and central motor functions. VNG measures the movements of the eyes directly through infrared cameras. VNG testing is more accurate, more consistent, and more comfortable for the patient to differentiate balance problem from the ears to the brain through the eyes and a window to the vestibular system.
  9. Treatment will be according to the etiology. Many times hearing and balance rehabilitation are needed.
  10. Balancing Rehabilitation – to improve coordination of all balance organs from the eyes to the ears proprioceptive senses and brain
