A safe and natural beauty treatment

Restylane is a natural beauty product that does not affect facial expression or facial movement. Over 15 million treatments with Restylane have been performed worldwide.

What is Restylane made of?

Restylane is a crystal clear gel that is injected into the skin in small amounts to restore volume and structure. It is based on hyaluronic acid, similar to the body’s own hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is non-animal which means that no skin tests are needed and that there is a minimal risk of allergic or hypersensitive reactions.

Benefits of Restylane beauty treatment

The results of a treatment with Restylane are long-lasting, without being permanent, giving you the freedom of choice to maintain the effect.

A treatment with Restylane will generally last 6 to 12 months, and with only one re-treatment the effect has in a recent clinical study been shown to last up to 18 months. To maintain the results in the lips, a re-treatment is usually needed within 6 months.

The effect and safety of Restylane beauty products have also been proven in numerous clinical studies.

Restylane fillers are a range of injectable gels used for filling out wrinkles and softly restoring the fullness of lips, chin, cheeks and nose.

The Restylane fillers product range can be used to smooth away wrinkles and fine line, create fuller and more accentuated lips, and adding facial volume and contour. Whatever your needs are, there’s a treatment that gives the best possible results.

BOTOX®

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary).

BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered by a healthcare professional as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows.

BOTOX® is approved by the FDA to treat the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when medicines used on the skin (topical) do not work well enough. BOTOX® neurotoxin is injected into the affected areas to help control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops

BOTOX® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to treat certain types of eye muscle problems (strabismus) or abnormal spasm of the eyelids (blepharospasm) in people 12 years and older

STOP

STOP™ the clock and reverse signs of ageing with the revolutionary skin renewal device that offers clinical results by increasing dermal collagen production, resulting in skin tightening and reduced fine lines and wrinkles

STOP™ is the perfect choice for those concerned with lined or lax skin wishing to turn back vital signs of ageing without turning to invasive surgery techniques

STOP™ is an innovative hand held device powered by TriPollar™ Radio Frequency (RF) technology. This 3rd generation RF technology has already transformed the professional beauty market with anti-ageing treatments that boost skin renewal producing younger, smoother skin. Now the same proven technology is available in a sleek, palm sized device offering clinical results.

Scientifically developed and clinically proven, TriPollar™ technology focuses four low power beams deep into the dermis; much like a laser lens focuses its light. Emitting low power high frequency electrical energy into the dermis, dermal activity is stimulated to tighten collagen fibres and increase new collagen production. Fibroblasts are stimulated increasing collagen replenishment, resulting in dermal thickening. A thicker dermis will make the skin of a woman in her 40’s look and feel like she is in her 30’s with visible long lasting results – reduction of fine lines and wrinkles and improved skin texture.

From the initial treatment the results of smoother more radiant skin are noticeable. Over a period of 4-6 weeks, repeating the 15 minute treatment twice per week, long lasting effects are achieved

Helios II

Unique Fractional Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser (1064 nm/532 nm)

Helios II is the unique Fractional Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser (1064nm/532nm) By LASEROPTEK, the spatial distribution of laser beam is designed to be uniform to reduced side effects such as Hyperpigmentation or Hypopigmentation. Helios II is also designed to keep a stable energy with uniform beam profile during long time operation at maximum repitition rates.

What is Q Switched Yag Laser?

This is a laser procedure in which a beam of light at a specific wavelength is applied to the skin and is absorbed by colored pigments in the skin, including melanin and tattoo pigments.

What is Q Switched Yag Laser used for?

Q Switched Yag Laser is used for removal of brown age spots on the face, chest, hands and arms and for tattoo removal. This laser also removes permanent tattooed makeup.

Is Q Switched Yag Laser safe?

Q Switched Yag Laser is a safe and effective method of treating age spots and tattoos. It is performed by a physician skilled in the use of lasers.
What are the possible side effects from Q Switched Yag Laser treatment?
Possible side effects include blistering and crusting after the treatment.

Is Q Switched Yag Laser painful?

For laser treatment of tattoos, the skin is numbed with a local anesthetic. This ensures patient comfort during the treatment. Small age spots may not require a local anesthetic.

Are there any pre-treatment procedures?

Our nurse or physician will consult with you and review the pre-treatment procedures. The skin being lasered must not be tanned. If the patient has a history of cold sores in the area to be treated, a prescription for an anti-viral medication will be given to you by the physician to be started the day before the laser procedure and taken for a few days afterwards.

How is Q Switched Yag Laser performed?

After the patient has had the local anesthetic, the patient is placed in a comfortable, relaxed position. The Q Switched Yag Laser handpiece is applied to the skin to deliver the laser light. Dark glasses are worn to protect the patient’s eyes from the light.
How long is each treatment?
The length of this treatment varies depending on the size of the area being treated. A few age spots may be lasered in a few minutes; a large tattoo may require 30 minutes or longer.

How many treatments will I need?

Most age spots require only one treatment. Tattoos require several treatments, which would be determined by your dermatologist.

How will I look after each treatment?

The treated skin becomes red immediately after the procedure. An antibiotic ointment will be applied to the area and a dressing applied. Some redness and crusting may last for 7 – 14 days.

How do I take care of my skin after the Q Switched Yag Laser treatment?

Patients are asked to apply antibiotic ointment and a bandaid to the treated area for one to two weeks. It is important to protect all your skin from the sun using a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher every day as well as sun protective clothing.

Are tattoos completely removed with the Q Switched Yag Laser?

Most tattoos are considerably improved, and many are completely removed. Some areas may show a “shadow” of the former tattoo, which gradually clears. Some tattoo pigment colors are more easily removed than others.

Breast Enlargement and Enhancement

breastaugBBF

Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to enlarge or enhance the shape of a woman’s breasts through the use of artificial breast implants. Women may choose to have breast enlargement surgery either as a reconstructive technique following mastectomy, to balance different sized breasts, or to accentuate the contours of the body. Whatever the specific purpose, women who undergo breast enhancement can expect larger, firmer, and more visually satisfying breasts.

Breast Augmentation Surgery

Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breasts. It is performed for a number of reasons:

  • To enhance the body contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, feels her breast size is too small.
  • To balance the breast size if differences exist.
  • To correct a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy.
  • Used as a reconstructive technique following breast surgery.

Breast augmentation surgery begins with an incision, made either in the crease of the breast, the armpit, or the perimeter of the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple). The placement of the incision will vary according to body type and the specifics of each breast enhancement procedure. The plastic surgeon then creates a pocket for the breast implant; either underneath the breast tissue or under the chest wall muscle. Breast implants can be placed in either location, centered directly behind the nipple. Finally, the original incision is sutured.

After Breast Enlargement

Once the surgical incisions have been closed and taped, the breasts are wrapped and supported by a gauze bandage. Breast augmentation patients are fitted with a surgical bra that provides support for several weeks. Fatigue, soreness, and discomfort are postoperative conditions that are greatly reduced through medication. The swelling that follows breast enhancement surgery gradually subsides and becomes undetectable in one month’s time. Stitches are removed within seven to 10 days following breast augmentation.

Breast Enhancement Risks and Complications

As with any surgical procedure, complications following breast augmentation, although rare, do exist. Capsular contracture (a tightening of the scar or capsule surrounding the breast implants) can occur following a breast augmentation procedure. If this happens, the plastic surgeon either “scores” the scar tissue, or removes the breast implant and re-inserts another. Other breast enhancement complications include excessive bleeding and infection in the area surrounding the implants. Scars may be evident for several months, but they gradually fade. In some cases, the nipples may become hypersensitive or under-sensitive for a period after breast augmentation surgery. In rare instances, the breasts may produce milk for several days after the surgical procedure. To maximize the success of breast enlargement and minimize the risk of complication, always follow your plastic surgeon’s instructions for surgical preparation and postoperative care. It is very important that you choose a qualified and highly experienced plastic surgeon perform your breast augmentation.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty

As people age, the skin around the eyelid stretches, muscles weaken and fat pockets begin to bulge. Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery is a plastic surgery procedure designed to reduce the appearance of the tired, droopy eyes that results from the unfortunate effects of time. This may involve the removal of skin and fat pockets in the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery will not reduce the appearance of crow’s feet, drooping eyebrows or dark circles under the eyes.

Blepharoplasty Candidates

The best candidates for eyelid surgery are those who are in good physical health and those who have realistic expectations. Most patients are over the age of 35, but if you are genetically predisposed to droopy eyes, you may decide to have eyelid surgery done at an earlier age.

Patients who may not be good candidates for blepharoplasty include those with thyroid disease, insufficient tear production, high blood pressure, diabetes, a circulatory disorder or cardiovascular disease.

Upper Blepharoplasty, Lower Blepharoplasty

Esthetic (cosmetic) eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, removes the excess fat and wrinkles from the drooping skin of the upper eyelids, that makes you look tired and old. It also eliminates bags under the eyes and tightens the lower eyelids’ skin. The result is a brighter, more alert and relaxed appearance.

Eyelid Surgery Procedure

Eyelid surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia but if requested, general anesthesia can be used. The plastic surgeon begins by making incisions in the crease of the upper eyelid and behind or beneath the lashes of the lower eyelid. Then, excess fat and skin are removed and if necessary, the muscles around the eye are re-draped.

The eyelids will feel tight and sore and the head should be kept elevated for the first few days in order to reduce swelling and bruising. Stitches will be removed two days to one week after blepharoplasty and patients should be able to return to daily activities after 10 days.

Eyelid Surgery Risks

As with any plastic surgery, eyelid surgery carries some risk. Risks and complications associated with blepharoplasty include:

  • Double or blurred vision – this is usually temporary and will subside in a few days
  • Swelling at the corners of the eyelids – a temporary condition
  • Whiteheads – these may appear after the stitches are taken out and can be removed by your surgeon
  • Difficulty closing the eyes while sleeping – this is usually temporary but, in rare cases, can be permanent
  • Ectropion – a rare condition involving the pulling down of the lower eyelids, which can be corrected with further surgery
  • Infection
  • Reaction to anesthesia
