On 24th September 2024, Bangkok Hospital Pattaya had the honor of welcoming a delegation of medical experts from the United States, led by Prof. Tudor G. Jovin, MD, Chair of the Cooper Neurological Institute and a specialist in research on catheter-based treatment for patients with acute ischemic stroke. The delegation also included specialists from Gravity Medical Technology, who focused on the development of devices for stroke treatment, The collaborate aims to establish a center for treating patients with acute ischemic stroke, and participating in the GRASSROOT Registry, the largest database on stroke treatment in Asia.

Bangkok Hospital Pattaya is committed to becoming an internationally recognized center for stroke treatment by collaboration with global experts to introduce advanced treatment technologies. This partnership not only represents a significant opportunity to elevate the hospital’s capabilities but also enhances access to more effective treatments for patients in Thailand.
This visit is part of an international collaboration project aimed at modernizing the stroke treatment system in Thailand. Meetings were held with the expert medical team from Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, led by Dr. Witthawat Thakong, a specialist in interventional radiology and neurology, who presented on the treatment of acute ischemic stroke Patients via catheter. The discussions focused on the use of advanced treatment technologies and opportunities to expand access to Mechanical Thrombectomy, a method that helps reduce disability and mortality rate from acute ischemic strokes.
This visit and collaboration mark a significant step forward in developing stroke treatment in Thailand and position Bangkok Hospital Pattaya as a leader in utilizing advanced technologies to save the lives of patients with acute ischemic strokes in the future.
